This was a Christmas gift for a special couple who love skulls and skeletons.  It is of a hand making the 'rock n roll' hand sign, juxtaposed with a butterfly to add colour and life, and to symbolise the soul.  They both live and breathe music, and it is in their bones.  I'm sure they will rock on for eternity. Love you both!

 It's been a tough couple of months with a relapse of severe symptoms.  I have this piccie up my sleeve from 19/5/12  so I thought it might be time to reveal it now and keep the blog going but give me some time to improve before working on my next post.

May it be a symbol of what's to come - now's time to go into my cocoon.  May I heal in time and emerge as the butterfly that's within me :)

'Circle of Life'

This image has been bubbling in my mind for months. It has been begging to be created. I drew it with Pitt Pen while lying down, then worked on it with watercolours sitting up for short spurts, then resting in between. I imagined a curvaceous tree at the heart of a circle of life, home to a wise owl, a bird, a lizard, a spider with its web. Surrounded on the ground by flowers, a deer, butterflies and a dragonfly in the air, all being enjoyed by a little girl with pigtails on a swing. Innocence, life, beauty, joy, nature. Happiness.

"I Am"

I have been in a bad patch health wise, unable to do any art for a month. I've been dreaming of lots of projects, itching to try mixed media again, and a stencil painting, but I don't have the strength to do either. A couple nights ago I was able to do some drawing lying down, and, while I imagine a grand large mixed media project from it, for now I have used watercolour.
