Owl In Flight

I saw a photo of an owl in flight and loved it but couldn't keep it, so I did a quick sketch to remember it. This is what it first looked like.

Then I played with it some more and tried it with different background colours to make cards. These are the results:

Thank You Owl

This year I have crafted many cards with owl designs. The owl cards seem to be the most popular - many people seem to love and collect owls! At first I made them for the demand, but now I've fallen in love with the gorgeous creatures and I enjoy drawing and painting my own.

At the end of this year (2011) I painted this 'Thank you' owl, which I made into cards for all the wonderful friends, doctors and support networks who have given me lifts and practical support throughout the year.

More so than that I would like to thank all my friends and family for being here for me in any capacity. Coffees, catchups, emails, letters, cards, facebook, phonecalls, texts, and simply knowing you're there for me makes my life so fulfilling. I am incredibly grateful and I painted this for you all.

So, thank you!

Season's Greetings

Welcome to my new blog. I have been wanting to start a blog purely for my artwork. As the New Year looms (tomorrow is 2012!) I thought now is as good a time as any to start.

This first entry shows the two images of a drawing of a Peace Dove I created for Christmas 2011. I love line drawings and simplifying pictures into a few lines. I also love spirals!
